Are the walnut shells sourced in another country and then sent to the country of manufacture or are they actually grown and shelled nearby to the plant?

They are sourced and produced in North America.

What is the In a Nutshell made out of?

If I'm allergic to nuts, will the In a Nutshell or Neat Nut cause a reaction?

Our supplier has ensured us that the shells are sterilized so there are no oils left, but if you have a serious allergy you can consider our coconut fiber scrubbers instead.

Do the sponges contain any toxic materials?

The plastic used in the scours is made from recycled PET, or clear plastic that was previously used for water bottles and food packaging. Because these are single source and come from food-safe sources and not mixed with other plastics we can ensure

What substance is used to keep the sponges damp in the packaging?

It is a magnesium salt solution, it is free from triclosan and does not contain any anti-fungal or other antimicrobial agents.
