The global cellulose market is largely controlled by a handful of vendors that will not comply with many of the guidelines for compostability testing. So while cellulose is 100% plant-based and can assume to biodegrade, we unfortunately are not able to third party certify them so therefore do not make the claim on packaging. Any of our sponge products with an abrasive, do contain recycled plastic and the abrasive should be removed before trying to compost the sponge, if you choose to do so.
